“Taktus” is an organization established by Mrs. Snezhana Karadjovska Popova in 2015, dedicated to promoting arts and culture. Our initiatives include organizing outdoor concerts of classical music, puppet theatre performances for children in rural areas, and painting and music workshops for both children and adults.

At the core of our mission is the belief in bringing art, music, and culture closer to people’s everyday lives, making them integral parts of the human experience.

Back in 2020, “Taktus” launched a pilot project called “Try Art”, a painting summer school for children in a suburb near Ohrid. The six-week program welcomed children aged 6 to 12, providing them with opportunities to learn painting basics, explore different painting styles, and delve into the lives and techniques of renowned painters. To date, over 100 children have participated in the summer school.

The culmination of each summer school session features an outdoor exhibition in the center of Ohrid, showcasing the children’s artworks.

In 2022, “Taktus” conducted a painting workshop project in a rural municipality of Debarca, engaging over 200 children aged 6 to 15 from the area. The project was titled “Margins” and it aimed to empower children from rural areas, demonstrate their creativity and capabilities, amplifying accessibility to art education.
